The ATO plans to help protect self-managed super funds (SMSFs) from fraud and misconduct by sending alert messages to trustees when changes are made to SMSF details.
The ATO have identified an issue that may have had a negative impact on SMSFs and have decided to postpone sending alerts until this is fixed. No alerts have been sent to trustees to date.
The ATO are committed to resolving the issue quickly and will advise the new date when the alert messages will commence.
All clients are reminded to contact the other trustees or VAT as your authorised agent of your SMSF if you are concerned changes have been made incorrectly and/or without your knowledge.
